Shesha builds websites for small businesses. For your account, your chats with our assistant and your website, Shesha is the responsible party under POPIA.
Your name, WhatsApp number or email (or your Messenger or Instagram account, if you chat to us there), what you tell us about your business, and the photos, voice notes and price lists you send so we can build and change your website. We also keep a record of the messages between you and our assistant. If you reach us through a "Made with Shesha" link on a website, a cookie remembers that for 30 days, and we note it on your account if you sign up.
Only to build, host and improve your website and to help you with it. Our AI assistant (provided by Anthropic or OpenAI) reads what you send in order to write your site, and on paid plans creates the photos you ask for. Your chats are not used to train AI models. Our emails to you are sent through Resend. We never sell your information.
When a customer uses the contact form on your site, we store their message for you and pass it on to you. For those messages you are the responsible party and Shesha is your operator.
We send your website and updates about it in the chat you started, on WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram. Reply STOP at any time to stop tips and updates, or PERSON to talk to someone at Shesha.
If you choose to start your website from your Facebook Page or Instagram account, we read its details (such as its name, about text, opening hours, address and number), recent posts and photos once, to fill in your website. We copy only the photos you choose, and we delete our access to your Page or account as soon as your website is built, or within a day if you don't finish. You can change the imported words on your website at any time. To have the imported details and photos deleted, reply PERSON in the chat and we will delete them for you.
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or delete your whole account and website. Reply PERSON in the chat and we will help. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
